My Calendar
Because I do not know exactly when My dungeon will be usable again, it is difficult for Me to accurately maintain My Calendar. The "red dates" are accurate in that they are days I will not be in New York City. Otherwise, I keep filling in My Calendar with "yellow dates" as delays happen. I cannot commit to sessions on any dates until My dungeon is usable again, which I will announce here.

NEW COMPUTER

My new computer was finally "installed" this week. I am busy with My computer tech person transferring everything over while simultaneously trying to stay off the cloud and disconnected from all the apps who want to collect all our data, not an easy endeavor, I must say. I do this for My privacy as well as for all My clients and submissives. Privacy is a precious commodity that, in My opinion, few people seem to care about nowadays or at least they have given up on it.

I give a very sincere "Thank you" to the few people who helped financially with My new computer. It is extremely helpful and truly appreciated. Now, unfortunately, the bill is adding up for all the hours My IT person is spending on this project, which includes updating all My ancient software that was downloaded from disks "back in the day"!

I have not had time to post an update since I had COVID, but I will get to it soon. I have been doing lunch, dinner, and phone sessions with some of My regular clients and submissives, and I will be heading to Las Vegas soon for an extended session in Sin City.

COVID RECOVERY & MY BIRTHDAY

I am finally feeling better after a nasty bout with COVID. As I work to finish reassembling My dungeon, I have resumed slowly getting in touch with My stable of clients and submissives about sessions. Thank you to those who have been patiently waiting for Me.

A big "thank you," too, to everyone who has sent well wishes for My COVID recovery, and birthday wishes and gifts (My birthday is tomorrow, October 10). It is all wonderful and truly appreciated!

COVID UPDATE

My body really does not like COVID and, unfortunately, has a difficult time dealing with it. I continue to test positive. The symptoms are too many to list here, but they are finally starting to subside. Although COVID has really knocked Me off My feet for two weeks, the good news is that it is not serious enough for Me to be hospitalized. This should pass soon and then I will get back on track with getting My dungeon fully up-and-running again!

COMPUTER REPLACEMENT HAPPENING / SESSIONS IN DUNGEON ARE GETTING THERE

Since My last update on June 24, 2024, I feel much better (although My sense of smell has not fully returned), tradespeople keep showing up for various repair/upgrade projects, and I continue to restore My dungeon to its pre-pandemic glory. I've been taking pictures of all the BDSM gear and fetish wardrobe that needs repair or tossing, but I've had no time to post said pictures. It's mindboggling how much great stuff I've managed to tuck away in My dungeon over the last few decades. I’m still finding items I haven't seen since the 1990s.

My computer is also near the end of it's useful life. Therefore, I am in the process of getting a new computer and transferring everything over. Needless to say, I have an abundance of private data that no one besides Myself ever sees (I don’t use the cloud or a smart phone), and I want it to stay this way. My trusted IT person, who has a full-time job, is dealing with his own set of personal matters, so replacing My computer is moving at a snail's pace -- similar to everything else around here -- but it is happening. The expense of a new computer was completely unexpected at this time but is necessary to make seeing submissives, slaves, masochists and fetishists in my dungeon possible again. I have been clear about the personal and financial challenges of maintaining a private and discreet, well-equipped dungeon in NYC as a sole Proprietrix, but I do believe such a space is an absolute necessity for conducting the type of intense encounters that My supplicants crave and deserve. That is why I have made helping financially the highest priority on My Gift List and I will be grateful to those who can contribute to this admittedly "non-glamorous" but crucial project.

Until My computer replacement is complete, I am experiencing some weird and random e-mail problems. Most of the attachments I send are received as endless pages of code, a blank e-mail, or they are simply missing. Some e-mails I send bounce back or "disappear." Like I said, "weird and random." If we are in contact via e-mail, please be aware of this and try to notify Me of any issues you see.

As for sessions in My dungeon, I am getting in touch with My regular clients and submissives as I can. The few sessions I've done in My dungeon are not elaborate as far as equipment is concerned, and they are only with individuals I know very well and who have proven themselves deserving over many years. My website states that I am not accepting new applicants for the time being; however, I still receive "Introduction E-mails." Interestingly, most of these "Introduction E-mails" are composed as instructed and are perfectly acceptable other than the fact that the senders did not read an important part of My website and/or did not look at My Calendar page. I hope all you eager petitioners will resubmit your "Introduction E-mail" after I resume screening again!

2 SMALL DELAYS

Soon after posting My May 13, 2024 "Update," I started contacting My established clients and submissives to let them know that My dungeon should be ready (enough) for sessions with them in August. Then, before I got even a quarter of the way through the list, I was informed with very short notice that workers would need access to My apartment several times during June for a building-wide electrical project. While this upended My immediate plans and schedule for reassembling My dungeon, I still hope to do a few sessions in My dungeon in August. I cannot commit to any dates yet, but I will be in touch with individuals as My situation firms up.

Another small setback is that I have been mostly bedridden with a nasty bug for almost a week. I barely leave My dungeon as I finish up small repairs and work on putting everything back together, and I still wear a mask when I ride public transportation, so I don't know where I picked up what I'm now sure is a virus. I have the occasional neighbor with COVID; however, I've tested negative for that a twice. I know it is a virus because a few days ago when I tried to eat something, I realized I have completely lost My sense of smell (and taste) again. It took approximately 2.5 years for My sense of smell to return to almost-normal after My bout with COVID in 2021. It seems COVID-19 did some permanent damage to My sniffer and now it is extra sensitive to any virus I might contract. Hopefully My sense of smell will return to at least "almost-normal" again soon.

I am on the mend and will post here as I can.

BOOTS, HAIR, ALMOST THERE (WITH DUNGEON REPAIR)

Just a quick update -- before another contractor visits tomorrow -- to let you know that great progress is happening with getting My dungeon into usable condition again. For one thing, I was finally able to clean the construction dust and debris off My boots. This is a big and exciting step, but I'll leave it at that because I still don’t want to jinx the situation. Clearly, though, you can see I love a pair of black leather boots!

Also, not having had a chance to get a haircut recently, My hair is getting really long again.

POLISHED KNOBS & LUMPS OF LATEX

The most recent water-damage event in My dungeon, February 2024, was the 5th in less than 2 years and the second incident this year. I haven't posted an update since it occurred because I sound like a broken record. I have also been very busy trying to get the repairs completed and My dungeon up-and-running again.

While repair work to My ceilings/walls is not yet finished, I have been able to start working on some of the finer details of My dungeon, including a thorough cleaning of all My equipment and clothing. Every inch of My dungeon was covered in construction dust and debris, so the cleaning is taking a while, but it's getting there.

Several items need special attention and repair after so long without use, such as the silver on some of My English riding crops. I instructed My helpful submissive to polish the knobs. I will summon My whipping boy eventually to assist with whip repair and maintenance.

Sadly, some of My gear reached the end of its life while in storage, including My latex bondage straps. I discovered hard and crumbling, along with sticky and lifeless, lumps of latex as I opened a properly stored bag that once contained shiny, supple latex. I have many fond memories of using the straps to bind latex and/or bondage lovers and fetishists.

MORE WATER DAMAGE, AGAIN

Well (very deep sigh), there was more water damage to My dungeon apartment over the weekend. I kid not. I'm unclear about the exact details, but it was apparently a clogged bathtub drain upstairs that ignited this most recent incident. Coincidently, I was out getting supplies to finish up the repairs of the previous two water damage events when I received a call that water was pouring from the ceiling in the unit beneath Mine. In a now-too-familiar panic, I rushed back to My dungeon. Thankfully, the problem did not originate in My newly renovated bathroom. It did, however, take a few hours to stop the flow of water (another long story in itself). In the end, My bathroom ceiling incurred water damage and a water-filled light fixture is drying out. And, I’m tired.

Before this happened, it was My plan to post an "update" this week that My dungeon could be ready enough to see people I know for sessions by the end of April, 2024. Now I need to reassess the situation. I will post here as soon as I have more solid information.

BDSM PROFESSIONALS.COM - A BDSM-SPECIFIC DIRECTORY

In December 2023, Mistress Tissa of Philadelphia published a much-needed directory of Pro-Dommes and other BDSM professionals, aptly named BDSMprofessionals.com. On My "Links" page, I try to keep a current list of Dominatrix Directories along with other BDSM-related websites. However, the Pro Domme directories on these websites are generally not kept up to date, among other issues. I never advertised in the BDSM section on Eros.com, an escort directory, but many professional Dominas did. Now, Eros is just the latest online platform to kick Dominatrixes off. So, we need a place of our own and Mistress Tissa has generously taken on this task.

Mistress Tissa is spending her time creating, maintaining, and truly nurturing this website for us, the BDSM community, and more specifically for Professional Dominatrixes and the clients who seek us out. A NEW YEAR, A NEW LEAK

I am not making this up. A water pipe above My dungeon's kitchen starting leaking last week. Although the water damaged at least 3 apartments, I was the person who discovered the problem when I saw part of My kitchen ceiling swelling and expelling brown water. Annoyingly, the super punctured the large bulge to confirm it was actually wet. This caused brown water and ceiling debris to gush everywhere -- into cabinets, onto counter tops, floor, etc. The pipe has been replaced and I’m in the process of cleaning everything. In the whole scheme of things, this is a small setback. I just have to keep laughing or I might cry about the ongoing issues in My dungeon. What a way to start the New Year.

Because of all that has been going on, I have not had time to post "updates" or work on e-mail. Regarding the wall in My actual dungeon room, repair work is happening. Keep checking back for updates.

ANOTHER COVID-FILLED CHRISTMAS

Well, I just cannot get a break from trying to avoid COVID. My Christmas week was spent with one family member getting COVID from a neighbor we visited and the other two of us testing several times, waiting for the "positive" stripe to appear on the test-result strip. This, while two other friends ended up in the emergency room with COVID. Being the fickle virus that it is, My other relative and I thankfully did not contract the nasty bug this time around. However, we wore masks in the house for two days to protect each other while our third family member was miserably sick and quarantined in the guest room.

A friend's husband who is a pulmonologist told us that on the day after Christmas he wrote so many prescriptions for Paxlovid that he lost count. Some of My friends, clients, and submissives also got COVID, took Paxlovid, and experienced almost no noticeable symptoms. The death rate has decreased dramatically, but COVID continues to provide a broad spectrum of experiences for people. I suppose this is at least part of the reason why so many people aren't concerned about contracting it now.

I, on the other hand, really do not want to get COVID again, nor pass it along to anyone else. After My first infection, it took approximately 2.5 years for My sense of smell to return to almost normal (wine, for one thing, is still not the same for Me), for other health-related issues to resolve, and to feel fully recovered. I have read from more than one source that there is evidence showing that unlike a cold or flu, COVID damages the body a little more with every infection, even if there are no apparent symptoms. The pulmonologist I mentioned takes COVID very seriously, one reason being he sees images of all the damage it has done to people's lungs.

While most of the world seems to be done with COVID, I have not had a break from trying to avoid it, not even this past summer. Living in densely populated NYC, I have consistently had at least one neighbor in My building infected with COVID. Every time I start to let My guard down, I get a call or e-mail that I was exposed to COVID. I'm glad I have not been infected again, but I do continue to wear a mask in crowded spaces along with taking other precautions. Additionally, the few people I have been seeing for sessions are happy to test at the time of our meeting.

I understand getting sick is the least of worries for many people around the world. I hope this time next year will be better in every way for everybody.

SISYPHEAN TASK & LAS VEGAS

A Sisyphean task is how My whipping boy aptly summarized the situation in My dungeon. While it does feel never-ending, I trust this will not continue for eternity.

Over the past month, My building's property manager inspected My wall yet again, concluded it was dry, and assured Me he would send in a contractor who knew what they were doing this time around. Several correspondences later, that contractor has not materialized. So, I decided to hire My own contractor and hash out the financial details later as restoring My dungeon remains My top priority.

Today, My contractor identified that My wall is still damp. Not great news. We need to determine from where the current moisture is emanating. Better news is that he will probably be able to start work next week, possibly the following week. Either way, due to holiday schedules, I don't think the work will be completed before the end of January 2024.

Along with this and other tedious, on-going dungeon issues, I did enjoy a fabulous trip to Las Vegas with a deserving submissive around Halloween. I have also been able to accommodate a few lunch, dinner, and hotel sessions with select submissives and servants who have earned these special experiences with Me.

WATER LEAK AND DAMAGE UPDATE

Since My September 21, 2023 update, there has been a repeated cycle of repairs and inspections of the interior and exterior of My dungeon wall. Every visit by workers leaves My dungeon a bigger mess. After approximately 7-8 weekends of rain, I'm still not positive that the leak has been fully repaired, although it is definitely improved. I'm waiting to hear back about the next steps in the process. Stayed tuned . . .

WATER DAMAGE REPORT

For those who are keeping track:

Over the past year-and-a-half, major renovations and smaller repairs have been taking place throughout My dungeon apartment (the same was simultaneously happening at My home apartment, but that work is completed now, thankfully).

Last year, an approximate 6-square-foot area of wall in My actual dungeon room was damaged by water. This was supposedly caused by a radiator leak above My apartment, which was fixed. Over the succeeding months, as other dungeon repairs continued, the water-soaked wall dried. Then, the area was repaired, sanded, and, finally, I painted it Myself a few weeks ago.

As I wrote last week (in September 15, 2023 "update"), My goal was to start seeing established submissives/clients in My dungeon again by the end of October 2023. However, much to My deep dismay, during recent torrential, multi-day rainfalls, I observed My newly repaired, freshly painted wall, along with some of the ceiling, fill with water, similar to a balloon.

Last week, various people inspected the damage and scraped wet debris (plaster, compound, paint, etc.) off My wall and ceiling. Then it rained again for a few days. The entire time water penetrated My wall. The now-exposed plaster, compound, and whatnot flaked and crumbled and fell to My dungeon floor. This corner of My dungeon is currently an unusable, damp mess.

Yesterday, contractors came to inspect the exterior of the building. They couldn’t find a crack or hole that might be the culprit, but they "sealed" the area. I am skeptical. My neighbor and I were told we need to wait for the next rainfall (possibly this weekend) to see what happens. I am in the process of trying to obtain more information.

Once the leak is found and fixed, My water-saturated wall needs to dry and be repaired again. This could take weeks, possibly months(?).

In the meantime, I will continue to whip the rest of My dungeon room back into working order. The first sessions I will be able to do will be less-equipment oriented scenes and with people who have seen and served Me before. I will be in touch with individuals as I think the space will work for us.

LIKE A BROKEN RECORD: FRESH WATER DAMAGE

As I wrote below in My June 30, 2023, "update," My time was occupied with family matters for most of July and August 2023. After which, three weeks ago, I returned My focus entirely back to My dungeon. All repairs had been completed and I was enthusiastically unpacking, cleaning, and organizing. I even started to notify My submissives/clients that I could schedule phone sessions again without concern of needing to reschedule last-minute and that sessions in My dungeon should be possible by the end of October.

Then torrential rains came this week. Multiple days of rain. Numerous spots on My dungeon wall ballooned as the water seeped through the exterior wall of My building. That sick feeling. And, like a broken record that repeats itself over and over, I rushed to rehang all My freshly washed sheets to "disguise" and protect My dungeon in preparation for more repair work.

The wall and ceiling were scraped today. A dank scent permeates the air of My dungeon. I will know more next week.

Until then, there is still plenty to be done to bring My dungeon back to its previous magical splendor, and accomplishing that remains My priority.

BACK FROM VILLA DOMME & DUNGEON REPAIR UPDATE

I have returned from another fantastic time at Villa Domme in Portugal with Anne O Nomis. This FemDom event, presented by and centered around the research and teachings of Anne O Nomis, gets better every year!

And, now I'm back to dungeon restoration in NYC. One more time, I believe I am on the final stretch of having My dungeon up and running again. This week I have been painting and doing small repairs Myself. Next week I will have some help. I cannot emphasis strongly enough how I really do not want to discover any new problems as I continue unpacking and putting My dungeon back together.

Due to family matters, I will be away and unable to work on My dungeon for most of July 2023 and part of August 2023.

MORE DUNGEON REPAIRS

Regarding the repair work being done in My actual dungeon room: every time I see a light at the end of the tunnel, it shines on a new problem in need of remediation. I have had to hire someone discreet, trusted, and skilled to help fix My precious dungeon. Progress continues, even if at a snail's pace.

I did accept two of the "extremely tempting" offers to travel for sessions I mentioned in a previous update. I enjoyed time in New Mexico and South Carolina with two of My most outstanding submissives. I am looking forward to attending Villa Domme again in June with a third.

RESTORING MY DUNGEON

I am around, keeping very busy putting My home and dungeon back together. After My health, My priority is getting My dungeon up and running again. To that end, I am spending almost zero time on website updates, Twitter posts, and even checking e-mail. As circumstances allow, I will slowly be responding to e-mails I have received over the past few months. The continued patience of those waiting is truly appreciated.

Keeping to My plan to try and resume phone sessions with people I know by the end of March, I booked a phone session for last week. And then I had to reschedule because ongoing issues interfered yet again. The phone session did ultimately happen, so things are heading in the right direction.

I have received a few extremely tempting offers to travel for sessions while My dungeon is still unusable. It is likely I will accept some of these offers, thus delaying again the time before I will be able to receive submissives, masochists, clients, back into My FemDom oasis.

Since I do not know exactly when My dungeon will be ready for sessions again, I will simply say for now: I cannot wait and keep checking back!

MORE COVID-19 / RESIDENZ AVALON CLOSED / RENOVATIONS IN FINAL STAGES

I have been hearing from My devoted submissives and clients, and I am not sure exactly when I will have a chance to sit down and catch up on e-mail. I am thankful for your loyalty and concern throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and, more recently, My renovation difficulties. Until we are in touch again, here is the latest:

Similar to My December 2022 update, COVID-19 continues to play a prominent role in My life, although waning over the past two weeks. An extended branch of My family, 15 people, contracted COVID during their holiday gathering (I wisely declined the invitation) and so did several more of My neighbors and friends. Three of these people were hospitalized for 4-13 days. Obviously this is stressful, but the good news is no one died this time. A few are still suffering with nagging symptoms, much as I have since My COVID-19 infection, but everyone is safely back at home now.

On Christmas day, I had to help My mother take her dog to be put to sleep. This was heartbreaking. Out of all the deaths in My life over the past 3 years, this felt the most immediately devastating, which is often the case with a beloved pet.

In November 2022 I learned of another sad loss in the FemDom, BDSM world. Residenz Avalon in Berlin posted their final farewell. Lady Mercedes and Lady Marlon made the decision to close Studio Avalon earlier in the pandemic, but that blow was somewhat softened by the fact that Residenz Avalon was going to remain open, and I was sure I would return in the not too distance future. Berlin is one of My favorite cities; however, My trips there will never be the same knowing that I cannot visit, servant in tow, with Lady Mercedes and Lady Marlon at their extraordinary FemDom getaway that was Residenz Avalon. I am grateful for the memories and friendships I made during My stays at Avalon in Berlin.

Now, onto more positive matters. The remediation at My home should be finished by the end of February. Then, I will be able to focus completely on getting the most recent water damage in My dungeon repaired. After which I will finally be able to clean, paint, and start putting My dungeon back together. Realistically, I will not be able to do in-person sessions before mid-April. Once I start again, I will only be seeing people I know and trust as I get back into the swing of things. As soon as I have My stable whipped back into shape, I will commence screening new applicants.

It is My plan to resume phone sessions with people I know by the end of March. I will notify individuals as I am able to schedule phone sessions without concern that I will need to reschedule on short notice.

To sum it up for now, I will not be doing sessions before mid-April 2023. I will update My website as the situation changes.

I will not be checking e-mail often through April 2023. Replies will probably take several weeks.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, GIN & MORE OF THE SAME

I wish everyone the best of the holiday season!

Not much has changed since My last update except that I was very sick with something that was "not COVID." It did, however, feel worse than COVID at times and it kept Me bedridden for at least six days over the past month. I kept testing negative for COVID, but it was a nasty bug and I completely lost My sense of smell/taste again. This is not overly surprising considering we are living in a brew of viruses in the NYC area -- COVID, FLU, RSV -- and many of My neighbors are sick with “not COVID" as well as actual COVID.

The renovation of My home bathroom and dungeon repairs are moving along, albeit with continuing delays due to sickness, lack of skilled workers, and typical NYC construction issues -- issues which most people outside New York City have very limited awareness, but I won't get into that now.

An amusing anecdote: 2 bottles of near-empty Gilbey's Gin were found within the walls of My bathroom. This discovery could offer a partial explanation for the shoddy workmanship of past tradesmen.

MORE WATER DAMAGE IN MY DUNGEON

"When it rains, it pours," so the idiom goes. There is now water damage in My actual dungeon room. I discovered the leak and damage as I was unpacking from the recently completed renovation of My dungeon's bathroom. This newest leak is radiator-related and emanated from an apartment above Mine. I spent a very long day covering everything in My dungeon with sheets before notifying the super to come assess the situation. The leak has been fixed and now the damage needs to be repaired. This will further delay the time before My dungeon is ready for sessions again. On the bright side, if this was going to happen, now is probably the best time for it to happen as most of My dungeon is already packed up, and I will not have to cancel a bunch of sessions.

SHORT VERSION of update:

My dungeon is not currently useable and I am not doing sessions of any kind at this time.

FOLLOWING are more details along with answers to some frequently asked questions I have been receiving as of as late:

Are you OK, Mistress Troy?

I am generally OK. However, like many people, I am dealing with persistent pandemic-related issues, and the deaths and illnesses of loved ones, while trying to maintain My own well-being.

My biggest obstacle to doing sessions right now is the continuing remediation of plumbing, electrical, and other problems in My dungeon, and now home, apartments. Buildings with old pipes and wiring can experience chronic issues, particularly if maintenance is neglected, which is the case in My dungeon’s building. As a professional Dominatrix it is almost impossible to find a building/landlord who will allow a professional dungeon on premise, at least at an affordable cost; therefore, it was necessary for Me to choose a location with an overall lack of awareness of what is going on, which unfortunately includes lax building maintenance practices. The long-term and ongoing accumulation of problems in My space combined with the pandemic-related shortage of workers continues to increase the amount of time needed before My dungeon will be ready for sessions again.

Trouble finding a suitable space for a dungeon is only part of the difficulties of being a professional Dominatrix. It is My choice to be a private person; however, as a ProDomme I have to remain extremely secretive in many ways and for many reasons (which is a whole different discussion). One example: I had to pack up and disguise My dungeon apartment as a "vanilla/mainstream" home to try and eliminate the possibility of being discovered by neighbors, building management, workers, etc., as this could result in the loss of My space and/or worse. I take these precautions not only for Myself, but for the safety and privacy of My clients. Needless to say, this is a stressful and exhausting experience, albeit endurable as I know it will all be worth it in the end.

Beyond this specific situation, the constant need for secrecy is also a stressful way of life, feeling more so by the day as politicians and their constituents, lawmakers, corporations, social media platforms, religious fanatics, and many others censor, discriminate against, and chip away at the rights of women, ProDommes, and sex workers as a whole. I am exceedingly happy and fulfilled in My life and practice as a professional Dominatrix and I cannot imagine this changing. However, the financial, health, legal, and safety risks that ProDommes and all sex workers have to navigate takes a toll. To add to the pile, this is something that few clients seem to fully understand and/or appreciate, as is often evidenced by their questions, comments, behavior, and voting habits.

Many dungeons and businesses have struggled and ceased to survive over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. As I wrote about in My September 1, 2021 "update," I am extremely grateful and thankful for the financial assistance and gifts I have received to help My business, and more specifically My dungeon, stay afloat as the pandemic has waxed and waned. I am tremendously thankful and fortunate that one person has made it possible for Me to cover My monthly expenses during these challenging times so that My dungeon will continue to exist and eventually welcome deserving submissives, masochists, fetishists, and clients to once again kneel, sit, and lay at My feet.

I will be around too! As long as I can take care of Myself while I work to put My dungeon back together. I wrote above “I am generally OK” and considering the circumstances of most of the people on our planet, I am doing very well. I really look forward to safely doing sessions again, but for the next few months I must focus on My dungeon, and the health and well-being of Myself and My loved ones. I also wish good health and peace to everyone reading this post.

Will your dungeon look different after the renovation? I can't wait to see all the changes!

No, My actual dungeon will not look different. The majority of renovation work is being done behind the walls in My bathroom, kitchen, and foyer. There will be new tiles and properly functioning plumbing fixtures, and I am thrilled about this!

Otherwise, the most noticeable change is a newly exposed brick wall in My foyer. I am quite pleased with this transformation that enriches My space with added character and charm.

Do you have naked slaves helping you with the renovation and clean up?

No. This is a nice fantasy for some, but the reality is that skilled, licensed people are required for the work that is being performed.

As for unpacking, cleaning construction dust off everything, and putting My dungeon back together, this is something I will do Myself. It is a monumental and complex task easier done Myself than training and supervising minions to carry it out. More significantly, it is an intensely personal undertaking. I am moving around and sorting through over 27 years of amassed personal and professional belongings. I do not trust anyone to rummage through these intimate treasures. Plus, it is exciting every time I uncover a long forgotten piece of fetish wear, BDSM toy, or other memento from My fabulous life as a Dominatrix.

Will you make an exception and do a phone or in-person session with Me?

No. If it was possible for Me to see or talk to one person, then I would be able to do sessions with everyone. My dungeon is not currently usable and My recent attempts at phone sessions have been thwarted by contractor activity and medical situations. Until I can book sessions and know that I will not have to reschedule, I will not be doing any sessions.

I hope you have fully recovered from COVID-19 / How is your sense of smell and taste?

My sense of smell and taste has not returned to normal since contracting COVID-19 a year-and-a-half ago. Hours-to-days will pass where I smell nothing, or occasional faint, foul odors. Then My brain will get bombarded with an overwhelming array of fragrances for a few minutes, some quite delightful and/or tasty smelling. Although My sense of smell/taste is diminished, I experience enough aroma -- possibly imagined -- to enjoy foods with which I am familiar. Dishes that are new to Me are generally tasteless, bland, or displeasing. When I eat with other people, I often discover that I am missing entire sections of the smell/taste spectrum.

Wine is currently not enjoyable for Me. All the lovely nuance is gone. It tastes bad, corked, or sometimes it burns like drinking pure alcohol. I hope this changes for the better over time as I truly enjoy a glass of wine with a submissive at My feet . . . or bound on My table.

BACK FROM VILLA DOMME & DUNGEON STILL NOT USABLE

Villa Domme, June/July 2022, in Portugal was magical and a much needed escape from the COVID-19 pandemic. Anne O Nomis spent the past 2+ years rescheduling, reworking, and relocating this event due to the pandemic and it was well worth the wait, not to mention all Anne's time and efforts! A delightful and intellectually curious group of Dommes and male-submissives, -slaves, -servants, and -masochists attended. It was a refreshing and comfortable FemDom environment set in a stunning castle. The weather could not have been better and everything was perfect. Then, we all hesitantly departed this FemDom paradise and the return to the "real world" has been a non-stop beat down, which is something I obviously prefer to administer, not receive!

I spent some time in Porto, Portugal before returning to New York City. Porto is a fascinating city full of some of the nicest people I have ever met. Sadly, a brutal heatwave and wildfires engulfed Portugal, Spain, and other parts of the region during My stay. A smoky haze covered the area and I was fortunate to have access to an air conditioner. Many are not so lucky, and I witnessed a bus passenger receiving medical help on the street, apparently for heatstroke.

Upon reentry to the States, a record-breaking heatwave was consuming much of our country (NYC has been sweltering), women here were -- and continue to be -- stripped of their rights and access to desperately needed healthcare, and another COVID-19 outbreak was in progress. I think most people realize all this is just the tip of the iceberg. Additionally, more water damage occurred in My home apartment.

My main focus until further notice is getting My dungeon up and running again, and that may take another 2 months the way things have been going. Among a litany of issues, everyone involved in the plumbing and electrical-related repairs at My dungeon and more recently home apartment (contractors, insurance company employees, building management, etc.) have either been sick with COVID-19, on vacation, or away for a funeral, and two people very unexpectedly resigned. You could not make this stuff up. Side note: there is also a monkeypox outbreak in NYC and an active case of polio in the suburbs, where the poliovirus has been detected in sewage. Hazmat suits may be the new preferred session attire.

I am backed up on e-mail and I probably won't be responding to messages for several more weeks. I will keep My website updated as things evolve so check back.

SURROUNDED BY PLUMBING PROBLEMS & COVID-19

As the plumbing work in My bathroom approaches the final stretch, something happened upstairs (cracked riser or broken sink?) and My neighbor and I suffered water damage to our adjacent kitchen walls and ceilings. The remediation logistics are being sorted out as the whole mess dries.

This neighbor is literally in the next room and our front doors are approximately 2 feet apart. Over the course of six days we had two face-to-face conversations while the plumbers worked. On the day of our planned third conversation she knocked on My door early to tell Me that she had just been sent home from work after testing positive for COVID-19. It was her fist COVID infection and, poor thing, she looked like she felt miserable. All that aside, she wanted to stand there and talk! I had to aggressively, in the gentlest way possible, insist that she get out of My face and go into her apartment and rest.

I have been out socially only twice since January and both times I was exposed to someone who was contagious with COVID-19 (I assume I didn't catch it because I still wear a mask when inside with other people). Not a week has gone by for the past 2+ years that I didn't learn of at least one person I know first- or second-hand getting COVID. I keep thinking there will be a break, like in other places apparently, but now it's showing up at My front door!

I just have to laugh . . . I'm surrounded by plumbing problems and COVID-19.

The renovation work in My dungeon apartment will not be finished before the end of July, possibly August. Of course, there is a delay with materials being available, but I am also booked to attend Villa Domme in Portugal this summer. This is an event that has been relocated and postponed a number of times since June 2020. Knock on wood -- or wet plaster in My case -- that it will happen without incident this summer.

RENOVATION & WRISTS

RENOVATION
As I wrote about in My February 23, 2022 update, I packed up and disguised My dungeon apartment so plumbing and electrical repairs could be performed. Breaking into the walls exposed additional issues and has resulted in an almost full gut renovation of My bathroom. Bigger problems in My not-so-well maintained building also came to light, prolonging the time needed for remediation. Once the work is finished in My apartment, I will commence the protracted process of unpacking everything and putting My dungeon back together again. One of the benefits I’m excited about from this ordeal is that I will end up with a fabulous exposed brick wall when all is said and done.

During this renovation, My desk and landline have been buried under protective plastic so it has been a challenge to check e-mail and enjoy phone sessions, neither of which I do on a cell phone. I also want to keep a close eye on the construction crew, which is a time and attention consuming task. My current response time for e-mail is a few weeks.

WRISTS
Thank you to those who sent well wishes and gifts regarding My injured wrists! They are better. However, one of the lingering neurology-related issues I experience from being infected with COVID-19 is pain where none should exist. So, while My wrists and hands are functioning nicely, they are still quite painful at times. I think this issue will subside with time and it certainly will not diminish the power of the spankings and whippings I administer.

FIRST UPDATE IN 2022: WRISTS / OMICRON / DUNGEON REPAIRS

In December I injured both of My wrists and it's been difficult to type, hence the lack of "updates" and tweets along with almost non-existent e-mail response. My wrists are starting to feel better so I will begin to catch up on things soon.

In addition to My injuries, omicron helped to create quite the stressful holiday season. December and January brought non-stop messages of relatives, friends, neighbors, submissives, clients, colleagues, and acquaintances who got COVID for the first and second time. Thankfully the majority are OK now. Sadly, though, I know one young person, 34, who did not survive COVID and passed away last week. Also, a family friend, 19, suddenly passed away from a genetic defect.

After spending a little time outside New York City right before omicron hit, I was disheartened to see how many people behave as if the pandemic doesn't exist. Then, as omicron pummeled NYC before moving on to other parts of the country, it sunk in how truly unique NYC is from almost anywhere else in the U.S.A. New York City is My home and I love it, but we are packed in here like canned sardines. Those of us who never left town during the pandemic have been relentlessly confronted with illness and death at a traumatic level for 2 years, and our behavior reflects this reality.

Understandably people are eager to be done with COVID, and omicron cases have declined dramatically. However, I think we could be jumping the gun again with thinking "it's over." I have a handful of neighbors who are currently COVID-positive. One lives on My floor about 20 feet from My front door, so I continue to literally dodge the virus every time I go out. Another neighbor and her 2-year old daughter got COVID recently and the daughter spent 3 days in the hospital.

I've written this before, but I really don’t want to get COVID again. It didn't kill Me, but it was nothing like a cold or the flu. It was much worse and has been debilitating at times. I contracted COVID a year ago this month and have experienced waves of symptoms ever since. These unpleasant "relapses" are happening less often (decreasing with each vaccine shot), but My sense of smell has not returned to normal. When and what I do smell and taste is not right -- I cannot trust what I smell yet. I am diligent with My smell therapy and I do have hope that My sniffer will enjoy a full recovery.

Since I am not comfortable returning to in-person sessions yet, I am using the coming weeks to get some desperately needed plumbing and electrical repair work done in My dungeon. This entails coordinating with the building and "hiding" My dungeon as best as possible. Packing up and disguising My dungeon for an array of "outside" visitors is an exhaustive, time-consuming -- but necessary -- undertaking. Even if I didn't mind people knowing My business, it is an unfortunate fact that many neighbors and landlords don’t want a professional Dominatrix and her dungeon in their building. Therefore, like many Pro Dommes, I am at risk of losing My space if discovered and I need to implement all possible precautions.

And this is the glamourous life of a professional Dominatrix.

CHANGES & CHALLENGES FOR THE PROFESSIONAL DOMINATRIX & FEMDOM SCENE

I started offering professional FemDom sessions in 1995. Much has changed since then, most recently (and possibly most significantly) the saturation of our lives by the internet and especially social media. The impact of COVID-19 has only accelerated broad trends that if not started by, were at least magnified by the growing influence of “online life." As I consider how I want to adapt to this evolving world, while continuing to remain true to My personal vision of what a Dominatrix and FemDom is, I have discussed this topic with a range of my dedicated fetishists, submissives, masochists, and slaves. I thought I would share the perspective of one of My more thoughtful submissives here.

The following was sent to Me by a very experienced submissive whose introduction to FemDom was at Bell du Jour’s famous house of domination in the mid-1980s and continued through encounters with Dominatrixes at many of the benchmarks of the New York City scene: Ava Taurel, Angel Stern, The Nutcracker Suite, Pandora’s Box and many others before he settled into what is now a multi-decade role as a submissive and slave to Mistress Venus and more recently to Myself as well. He wrote:

Experience taught me that as a Mistress transitioned from a “session house” to working as an independent their reasons for doing so almost exactly aligned with those who sought to see them. Mistresses sought more control over their environment: physically in terms of their space, financially in terms of their incomes, and “socially” in terms of who they saw. Submissives likewise gained these same things…the space was consistent since the Mistress owned or at least had more control and access to it, they may have paid more but the clock was less of an impediment, and they saw the same person over and over again.

Everything was about maximizing the “in person” encounter. That was the center of the experience.

I feel like many Mistresses would not do things that would detract or distract from that in person, in studio session. Phone sessions, public outings, travel, were only available (if at all) as a means of enhancing the traditional in person session.

I sense that things have now been inverted in some respects. The traditional in person session in a dedicated space is certainly still part of “the scene” but it is hard to escape the impression that they take place only if they enhance (or at least do not detract from) all those “other things”: travel, public outings, phone/social media encounters, etc.

I have mentioned in other "Updates" and throughout My website that My approach to FemDom and being a Dominatrix is “comprehensive." It is also “traditional." While I may eventually flesh out what these terms mean to Me, particularly as the possibility of resuming in-person sessions becomes more immediate, suffice to say the submissives, slaves, masochists, and fetishists who have been part of My world the longest have not only understood this, but they embrace it. My goal is to utilize the aspects of these rapid changes that enhance My personal vision and experience of what it means to be a Dominatrix and participant -- both personally and as a professional Mistress -- as I continue to move forward in the FemDom realm.

HURRICANE IDA - FOLLOW UP TO YESTERDAY'S POST

The tornado and flash floods I wrote about last night were remnants of Hurricane Ida and the damage here is devastating. The last I heard, at least 45 deaths have been attributed to this hurricane/storm in the northeast U.S. alone. You can see video footage all over TV and social media. Thankfully, I am OK, although the basement of My building got approximately 16 inches of flood water.

Maybe this will be the event that convinces naysayers climate change is here?

GRATITUDE & SESSIONS

I've written about ongoing challenges and "issues" during the COVID-19 pandemic and while these struggles haven't changed dramatically (yet), I am thankful, full of gratitude, and feeling extremely fortunate. A few months into the lockdown last year, with virtually zero income, My emergency nest egg was dwindling rapidly. Like so many other business owners (and people in general), I found Myself unable to pay My monthly expenses. I was on the verge of having to let go of My dungeon, My very special sanctuary that I had spent the past 25 years creating, maintaining, and enjoying to the fullest with all My treasured submissives, masochists, and fetishists. Before I seriously considered having to ask for help, a few people sent financial gifts and one person ensured that I was able to keep and maintain My dungeon until it is safe for Me to resume in-person sessions again full-time. For this much-needed help, kindness, and generosity, I do not have enough words to express how thankful and grateful I am. With overwhelming suffering in the world today, I am a truly and profoundly fortunate person.

Along with monetary support, I have been receiving gifts on My "Gift List" and care packages during the pandemic that are just as thoughtful and just as appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has brought help and happiness to My life over the past year and a half.

REGARDING IN-PERSON SESSIONS:
Based on first-hand experiences and observations, anecdotes, news reports, articles, data, etc., I do not feel safe resuming in-person sessions yet -- at least not the way most of us enjoy them. I am keeping My website updated as I have definitive information. However, everything continues to feel like a "moving target" during this pandemic so My posts about resuming sessions are essentially "thinking out loud," and I am trying to keep that to a minimum.

REGARDING PHONE SESSIONS:
I am doing phone sessions -- mostly with people I know -- who follow the instructions on My "Phone Sessions" page. Do note, though, that I am especially slow with e-mail and scheduling for the time being, so keep that in mind when booking.

A number of people I know have contacted Me wanting "to chat" during the pandemic. That would be great, but you must book a phone session by following the instructions on My "Phone Sessions" page.

Everything is "off" as the pandemic drags on and a few people who have booked phone sessions during the pandemic forgot to (or just didn't??) call at the scheduled time. I actually understand this to some extent -- the days run together, ongoing challenges, "it's a pandemic," "moving target" . . . But, I really hope things don't stay this way . . . And, this is why I have strict cancellations policies!

P.S. As I work on this post there is a tornado warning for New York City and parts of New Jersey, and extreme flash flooding is happening. A friend's apartment now has 2 inches of water and a terminal at Newark airport in NJ is flooded. Wow. It's crazy times -- and climate change. And now, NYC subway service has been suspended due to flooding.

THE PANDEMIC - RECOVERING

I have not been posting here because I have been dealing with one challenge after another. One of the biggest being that I got infected with COVID-19 in February, 2021, and I have no idea how. I stopped leaving My apartment almost completely when the number of COVID-19 cases in New York City increased exponentially over the holidays continuing into January and February 2021. It was the "NYC variant” gone rampant. Almost everyone I know in the Tri-State area who had not already had the virus caught it during this time period. I made it through an entire year in Manhattan without catching the virus by always wearing a face mask, not getting near anyone, and lots of handwashing. When I experienced symptoms in February it never occurred to Me that COVID-19 was a possible cause. I assumed that I was simply suffering “covid fatigue” along with so many other people. I thought that My miserable physical condition was the result of staying inside and relatively sedentary for so long. Even when I burned incense one day and didn’t smell it at all, I thought “...that’s really weird...maybe it's old?...", again, not even considering COVID-19 was an option. A few hours passed before it finally clicked in My brain that “Oh crap, I can’t smell anything!?!”

After testing positive that evening, I was in shock for a while. I never figured out how I contracted the virus since I had rarely left My apartment during the winter months and never without a mask. My doctors think that the NYC variant was so prevalent and so contagious that I got infected just from existing in NYC and I’ll never know exactly what happened. Thankfully, I did not require hospitalization, but I did have extremely unpleasant and concerning symptoms. I was able to rule out anything life-threatening and most of the symptoms have dissipated now that I‘ve had My second vaccine shot, although My sense of smell (and taste) has not fully returned yet.

As I continue to recover, I see that the Delta variant is in at least 47 states, and I hope people will treat this news seriously. Being vaccinated should eliminate the risk of death and severe illness, but not everyone is vaccinated. Regardless, the virus can still enter your body. I don’t like what the virus has done to My body and I worry about possible undetected damage. I, for one, do not want any more exposure to it, even if it won't kill me.

On a completely different topic, while healing from COVID-19, My website was hacked and it appeared as a jumbled mess online. I got that situation stabilized; however, I am now in the process of moving My website to a new server.

Between all this and an assortment of other issues, I have not been checking e-mail regularly nor have I resumed sessions yet (I will though, don't worry). As I continue to physically heal, recover, and grieve all the losses (people, but also businesses) of the past 16 months, I will be tweaking and updating My website as I feel up to it.

2021 HAS ARRIVED

We knew it would get worse before things get better, and it has. Not only the deadly coronavirus pandemic but our sitting president, who relentlessly lies and chips away at our democracy, has today incited an assault upon our Capitol. It is outrageous and, in fact, criminal. What is more mindboggling is the number of people who have enabled, allowed, encouraged, and "turned a blind eye to" his destructive behavior without consequences for years.

The results of yesterday's elections in Georgia are a relief in many ways. However, they show us once again how divided we remain as a country. As I have said, I believe most people generally want the same basic things, including a safe place to live, clean/non-toxic water and food to consume, a job/career, and access to sound healthcare, so why is it so difficult to work together towards our common goals. Nobody is ever completely satisfied with any elected official, but 1) we need to appreciate the fact that in the U.S.A. we can vote for whoever we want in fair elections, and 2) after January 20 we will have leaders who care about more than themselves, so let us work together to dig ourselves out of this horrible mess in which we find our country and let's make 2021 the "better" year we all want it to be.

Please, let's all cooperate with each other so we can get through this dreadful period in human history, and offer kindness and compassion to other humans and living beings on our planet. PLEASE BE CAREFUL

Every time I think things cannot get worse, they do. For the past three days I have received a constant stream of phone calls and e-mails with news of people I know (friends, relatives, acquaintances, clients), who have ended up in the emergency room, tested positive for COVID-19, and/or been exposed to the virus and have been notified they have to quarantine. One person, a male in his 40's, went to the emergency room, tested positive, and died within the week. I am a bit numb at this point and, sadly, I am losing track of everyone's situation. Some people have told Me they don't know where they got the virus because they were going about their life as usual and wearing a mask "when it was required."

I have canceled the few tentative plans I had for the holidays and, while this pandemic has pushed everybody to their farthest limits, I hope everyone will do the same and just stay home. If you are not overly concerned for your own health or your loved ones, as I wrote on My COVID-19 page, "show some respect for all the healthcare workers who are putting their life and well-being on the line daily, often to save thoughtless, irresponsible people." If we all stay vigilant for a few more months, we should start to feel some relief from this devastating pandemic.

CLOSED: STUDIO AVALON BERLIN & PARTHENON NYC

In more upsetting 2020 news, Studio Avalon in Berlin has announced its closing. Avalon, which is comprised of The Studio and The Residenz, is a world renowned BDSM FemDom destination. The immaculately designed and maintained Studio Avalon was geared for intense, hourly sessions with amazing FemDommes, while The Residenz is an imposing, yet lovely, place to spend multiple days and nights in a pure FemDom setting (with a stunning view of the Havel River). I was devastated to learn of the recent closing of Avalon; however, to soften the blow a bit, it turns out that only The Studio is closing and Residenz Avalon remains open for private visits. I look forward to returning to Residenz Avalon and seeing Lady Mercedes and Lady Marlon again as soon as possible.

A day after I found out about Studio Avalon, I saw Ariana Chevalier's announcement on Twitter that she is closing her dungeon, Parthenon/NYC Rubber Studio. Once again, I was stunned to the core and saddened, but unfortunately not surprised as the COVID-19 pandemic is causing irreparable damage in so many ways. I first met Ariana Chevalier in the 1990's and her beautiful smile and personality left a lasting positive impression on Me. After this first meeting at her previous dungeon, Ariana Chevalier went on to create Parthenon/NYC Rubber Studio, a New York City dungeon with an excellent reputation amongst professional Dommes, rubber fetishists, submissives, masochists, and many more. Ariana Chevalier and her Parthenon/NYC Rubber Studio will be truly and deeply missed.

U.S. ELECTION & COVID-19 CASES

First, it is about time we elected a Woman for Vice President of the United States of America. Now, let's work on the other half of the ticket so Women can literally rule this country!

Next, I have not posted here in over a month mainly because I have not had much positive news to share. Along with various personal matters, I continue to help with the caretaking of more than one person. Because of all this, I will not be checking e-mail regularly through the end of 2020, possibly longer. I am doing phone sessions, but I am extra slow right now with getting dates/times scheduled, so your patience and loyalty is greatly appreciated.

Regarding COVID-19 cases and in-person sessions, keep checking My COVID-19 page for updates, but briefly here, the latest news is disturbing. Within the past 24 hours, I have learned of 10 new COVID-19 cases in My orbit (before that, it was approximately 1-2 new cases a week). These 10 cases are spread among four states, two families, three high school students, and one young woman with a notable situation. She got the virus early on, back in March, recovered, and is newly re-infected. She said the symptoms are much worse this time around. I will update My COVID-19 page over the coming days but, suffice to say, I am in no rush to do in-person sessions at this time.

New developments in the world on several fronts appear to be trending in a positive direction, so let's hope that is the case. For now, wear a mask and keep your distance!

VARDA CLOSED & GRIEF

It looks like VARDA, My favorite boot and shoe shop in New York City, could be closed for good. I have written about Varda several times in My "updates" (including in the posts dated November 15, 2013, March 29, 2019 and June 1, 2020). Over the summer, on June 1st, I wrote that Varda, located in SoHo, was in the heart of the looting that took place during the COVID-19 lockdown. I recently got through to someone on the phone at Varda -- possibly the owner -- and as I suspected from the television news footage, the store did suffer damage. I was told that they are moving inventory to a warehouse and they are trying their hardest to reopen. I was in the SoHo neighborhood a few days later and I was utterly stunned to see the darkened and completely empty Varda store with a sign in the window: "Retail Space Available, Short Term or Long Term."

Around the same time, I learned that My yoga studio cannot afford to reopen (whenever it is safe to do so) and it has permanently closed. I have been mourning one person after another for the past several months, and now My grief grows over the loss of so many businesses, including My nail salon, yoga studio, several favorite restaurants, and Varda. As My income has plummeted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I can empathize deeply with the sorrow these remarkable business owners and their now ex-employees are experiencing. The world is mourning life as we knew it less than a year ago. I really hope people have spent time reflecting on the circumstances that got us here and that we can get our act together and stop the madness -- and then live in peace and harmony!

To end this post on a bright note, after I got over the initial shock of seeing the vestige of Varda, I walked around the corner and discovered a Tamara Mellon store that opened right before the lockdown happened. I didn’t have time to try them on, but the pair of boots I want, Easy Rider Mid Calf 35 Boots (Size: US 9/EU 39), which are listed on My Gift List, were on display and seeing them in person confirmed that they are a "must have" for all the walking I do!

"EDGE PLAY" BY JANE BOON

LEATHER MEDICAL HEAD HARNESS

One of My best "patients" sent Me this leather head harness, which will be used to restrain his head during his next "treatment" with Me, whenever that might be. I discovered this particular head harness at FemDom Mansion in Atlanta last summer when Mistress Ayn used it with her slaveboy. Mistress Ayn was kind enough to send Me the link for it, which I shared with My "patient," and now this impressive head harness is the latest addition to My "clinic."

Speaking of which, as you know from thorough study of My website, I do not have a conventional style medical examination room or clinic for medical scenarios. PRE-PANDEMIC DOUBLE-DOMME SESSIONS

Two of My last sessions in March, before the pandemic lockdown, were shared with two other fabulous Dommes, Baroness Essex and Mistress Venus. I wrote about afternoon tea with Baroness Essex and My slut-maid in My March 30, 2020 "Update." Since then, Baroness Essex sent Me another picture which is posted here.

In a completely different scenario, Mistress Venus brought her subject to My "facility" for an intense "procedure" with a "specialist." The procedure was slated for full photographic and written documentation. However, once the subject was secured in a leather body bag and hood, the camera was forgotten. THANKFUL FOR GIFTS

The current COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely difficult for people in myriad ways, including financial devastation for many, so I am more appreciative and grateful than ever for the gifts I have recently received. PREPARING TO REOPEN

• 

New York City is starting to reopen this week after the approximate 3-month lockdown for the COVID-19 pandemic, and I remain in My dungeon preparing to start doing in-person sessions again. It is a trying time in the world, to put it mildly, and the past week or so has been especially nerve rattling in My Upper East Side neighborhood. I am very fortunate in that I actually enjoyed isolating in My dungeon, where it is calm and I have plenty to keep Me busy. Last week, however, as the city expected to be preparing to reopen, we instead were met with rioters and looters, an unfortunate by-product of the very important protesting that is still happening today. My neighborhood (and block) has been inundated with peaceful protestors, and that has been wonderful and inspiring! However, because of all the theft and destruction (by looters) south of Me, people in My area prepared for the worst. Which means, I have been surrounded by the sounds of emergency vehicle sirens and hovering helicopters almost non-stop for over a week now, day and night. At one point I was sure a helicopter was going to land on the roof of My building. During a time that business was anticipated to resume, instead, even more storefronts were boarded up with plywood for protection.

I am happy to report that the protesting in My neighborhood so far has been genuinely "peaceful," focused, and I hope productive! Time will tell if the plywood will be removed from storefronts -- I certainly hope so, and I will continue to prepare for in-person sessions once again.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

Using some of the words of one of My trusted subjects, I want My "Updates & News" page to focus on "Female Domination and male submission...fetishes and fantasies," but I cannot continue to say nothing specifically about the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery to name but a very few of the recent examples of what Black communities have experienced for centuries because of institutionalized inequality, oppression, and violence. Throughout My life, whenever I have read or heard -- and nowadays see video -- of similar stories of racism, My heart hurts, My stomach becomes sick, and the sadness and shock is overwhelming. To try and keep it short and simple here, I stand with and support all the protestors across our country right now.

The looters are an entirely different matter and they should be dealt with harshly, in My opinion. From what I've read and witnessed firsthand in Manhattan, the majority of the looters are organized crooks who drive in from surrounding areas to take advantage of an already dire situation, which is infuriating. (Then there are the "extremists" with sinister agendas, but you will have to look elsewhere for that type of discourse.)

A glimpse from My perspective: Throughout My life, as a Female, I have been harassed, threatened, and faced discrimination simply for being Female. These same issues are more extreme for a professional Dominatrix, which falls under the umbrella term of "sex worker" nowadays. It is difficult and can be unsafe for Me to try and make a living in My chosen and desired profession, even in New York City. In My younger years, I experienced moments of fear about getting physically attacked when exiting lesbian/gay and BDSM clubs in New York City. When I needed to use crutches after an injury several years ago, I got a small taste of how physically disabled people are treated in our society, both good and bad.

While I am white and I cannot claim to know how racism feels, much less to have experienced it, I have experienced discrimination and threats of violence just for being born the way I am and for choosing a "deviant" life path. I believe that we all generally want the same basic things, including a safe place to live, healthy food and clean water to consume, and the freedom to be who we are without fear of harm, incarceration, or death. I truly hope that people open their minds and hearts and that positive change finally happens from all the current protesting.

Having said all this, I do believe that Women should be in charge of everything!

LIMBO

Nowadays, every time we think things cannot get worse, it feels like something even more traumatic happens. I want to stay positive and focus on "fun things," but as we watch people die and get killed and our cities burn, it is very difficult to stay upbeat. We all know what is happening in the world. We get bombarded with it every day. There is no need for Me to detail the upheaval here, but we are all experiencing various kinds of distress and we are all trying to cope in our own ways.

On the news this morning, I saw My favorite Italian leather boot and shoe shop in New York City, VARDA, which is located on Spring Street in Soho. Varda is a wonderful "mom-and-pop" store that I have written about in a few places throughout My website over the years. It has been closed during the COVID-19 shutdown. I assumed it would resume business this month as NYC starts to reopen, but it is in one of the hardest hit areas of looting over the past few days. In the televised news footage, a now-familiar trash fire was burning in front of the shop last night. I am worried that Varda's storefront was destroyed and that they might suffer the same heartbreaking fate as so many other businesses across our country.

I also discovered today that My nail salon has been emptied of everything except the largest pieces of furniture. There are no notices posted. I wonder what happened to all the women who worked there. Maybe they removed everything for safe keeping and will return when it is less risky to do manicures and pedicures again.

A neighbor told Me the other day that one of our favorite nearby restaurants is probably not going to reopen because a developer purchased the building before the pandemic and there are only two years left on the lease . . .

The world is in limbo. This is something we all share in common right now. As I head to bed exhausted this evening, I hope people will find and focus on the positive moments in the world and that kindness and empathy will spread.

OBITUARY FOUND

In My January 17, 2018 update, I wrote about how I discovered that a long-term slave/client of Mine had passed away. Something similar happened today and after the initial shock, I sit here stunned and saddened about his death. This submissive, who was also a serious leather and boot fetishist, was truly a larger-than-life character. He often drove Me crazy, but in the best kind of way, because he simply wanted everyone to be happy. He was always positive, upbeat, and hopeful, all with an overabundance of intense energy. His dream was to submit to and serve Me in My dungeon; however, because of personal circumstances and his history, he generally felt more comfortable outside the dungeon, so most of our sessions were in restaurants. Our first session together was in 2003 and, also due to his personal situation, he experienced some rocky times over the years. He even "disappeared" for several years at one point. We had been meeting approximately once a month into summer of last year and good progress was being made towards spending more rigorous time in My dungeon together. We even talked about possibly visiting Residenz Avalon in Berlin "next year" (2020) or maybe just a "gentle" and luxurious resort. He had also found a leather clothing designer/maker last spring and he wanted to introduce this person to Me and the owner of Purple Passion, Hilton. He tried to plan a dinner for us all to meet, but scheduling was a challenge. Then, he needed a routine surgery in July, which would require a lengthy physical rehabilitation period. He and I exchanged a few e-mails and, factoring in My full session and travel schedule, understood that we might not see each other in person before the holidays.

At some point during autumn I realized I had not heard a peep from him. I sent an e-mail and got no response. I immediately checked online for an obituary and found nothing. I was relieved and assumed I would hear from him when he felt up to it. After the holidays and another unacknowledged e-mail, I looked again for an obituary and found nothing. Maybe I didn't know his real name after all? He could see My Calendar was fully booked so maybe he didn't want to add to My inbox? This was a unique and meaningful relationship in My life, but it was also a professional one. It is expected that the majority of a ProDomme's clients will eventually move on without any notice and often they do not want to be contacted when they do. So, still with no obituary that I could find, I went about My busy life, albeit with a lingering feeling of dread concerning this submissive.

Then, Hilton unexpectedly contacted Me directly since he had not heard a peep either from this person after all the hoopla last summer. As I was typing an e-mail to Hilton today explaining that I have been worried, I took a quick look again for an obituary, and there it was. I was floored. My submissive died last summer, within two weeks of our last e-mail exchange. I have no idea why I couldn't find the obituary during My previous attempts. I also have no idea what happened with My leather-loving submissive and there is no one I can ask. The obituary was very short, but several pictures were posted. Seeing some of the people and places in his life that he always talked about hit Me with a flood of emotions. His humongous, often mischievous, smile beamed in every photo. That smile was contagious, so while I mourn him and the dreams he wanted so desperately to experience, I also smile as I hope he is resting in peace.

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN CONTINUES &GIFTS

As the lockdown continues, I am truly grateful for all the helpful items and gifts I have received from My submissives. One of My most astute submissives when it comes to My Gift List always sends the items I need most with impeccable timing. Among other necessities, she recently sent a soothing bar of olive oil soap and a much needed jar of Avena Botanicals Crème for Me to use on My sandpaper-like hands (from all the handwashing!).

I posted a picture in one of My new handmade masks (a gift that is working out great!), but I didn’t wait to wash My hair first after all (see reference in April 24, 2020 "update" below). As you can see, the sun is nowhere to be found and it is quite nippy in New York City. We had a mild winter here and I knew we would pay for it this Spring -- we are expecting record low temperatures this weekend.

Back to My Gift List, I posted one of the pictures I had taken right before the shutdown and it showcases some of the magnificent gifts I have received over the years. A La Perla bra, red leather Italian gloves, a black suede coat from The Original Leather Store (a defunct leather shop in Manhattan where most of My leather clothing was acquired in the 1990's and 2000's, along with the also defunct North Beach Leather), a striking black leather crop, and black Calvin Klein string-bikini panties. Although string-bikini panties are not currently "the style" (and therefore difficult to track down), I think they are sexy and I find them to be very comfortable for everyday wear. This pair is currently on My Amazon wish list and I have received a number of them over the years -- thank you to everyone who has sent Me a pair (because they do wear out eventually)!

Thanks to My favorite "little," I have new face masks, and more! My dear little one sent Me an impressive care package to help protect Myself (and anyone near Me) from COVID-19. Sometimes she is bratty and needs a good spanking (maybe even corner time!), but she is always an amazing person. She handmade some fancy face masks for Me and mailed them in a package that included other items such as ordinary medical masks, toilet paper, colorful latex gloves, various kinds of soap, antiseptic wipes, herbal tea, and much more. I may post pictures of Me in My new face masks, but I'll probably try to wash My hair before taking them, so don't hold your breath!

EARTH DAY - APRIL 22 & AVENA BOTANICALS

Today is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for ourselves and future generations. Earth Day reminds us to take care of our planet, and we need to do a much better job with that. Please take a moment today, and every day, to think about our connection with nature -- plants, animals, and the land, water and air of Earth that are integral to our health and all that we are.

Speaking of Mother Earth, I found some pictures from My visit to the gardens and shop at Avena Botanicals in 2010. Avena Botanicals is located in Rockport, Maine (U.S.A.) and is a very special place that serves people's health, spirit, and well-being. On their biodynamic farm and gardens, they create high quality, hand-crafted herbal products for purchase online or in their farmhouse shop. They also offer a variety of classes (indoor and outdoor) including subjects such as herbal healing, Ayurveda, and biodynamic and organic herb gardening. I wish I lived close enough to visit regularly, but since I don't, some of Avena Botanicals products are always on My Gift List.

BOARDED UP BUSINESSES & BULLWHIP

Today the sun was shining in New York City so I went out to get food. I snapped some pictures of the way storefront businesses are trying to protect their properties using plywood during the COVID-19 lockdown. Some members of My stable may recognize at least one of the restaurants. It is sad. I hope these and all businesses are able to reopen (and thrive again!) once this coronavirus settles down.

Inside My dungeon is a slightly different story. There is no plywood. I eagerly await the return of My submissives, slaves, and masochists with My 6-foot Terry Jacka bullwhip.

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

Very thankfully, I remain healthy and, considering the circumstances, I am doing well. New York City is the current epicenter of the COVID-19 epidemic in the United States, and things are not good here. People are sick and they are dying at a frightening pace. There are refrigerated trucks to store the bodies outside of hospitals, one of which is just a few blocks from Me. Businesses around our nation and the world are closed and many people, including Myself, have lost most to all of their income. One of the frustrating parts of this pandemic is that while it may not have been preventable (although I think it could have been, but that's another conversation), it could have been avoided for the most part in the United States. I am controlling, but I also keep an open mind. I do not intend to offer a lengthy dissertation here, but I want to share a few questions I have been sincerely contemplating during this crisis: Are the people who voted for, and who defend, our top elected U.S. official genuinely happy with, and proud of, his service to our country? Do people truly believe he has our best interests at heart? Are the majority of people in our country "better off" (wealthier, healthier, safer) right now than they were in April 2016? Why didn’t a Female get nominated for president?? These are complex issues, I know, but I am earnest when I say I wonder about these things, and I wish they were easier to discuss in a civilized manner. And I will leave it at that for now.

A bit of positive news during the lockdown is that our air is clearer. However, I worry about My submissives, clients, family, and friends, several of whom are in high-risk groups for contracting this coronavirus. I am doing what I can to help and right now that is primarily staying isolated in My dungeon. I am grateful to know that people are concerned about Me too, so following is My current situation:

As stated above, I am fine, considering. I feel very fortunate that I am able to get fresh food and clean water. I am holed up in My dungeon, which is actually a relief for Me. As I have written in previous "updates," I have plenty of administrative, personal, and dungeon projects to catch up on so I am happy to have the time to spend on these things. Unfortunately, I cannot summon members of My stable to come help clean, condition leather, shine shoes and boots, etc. I am slowly working My way through My inbox as I focus on other activities and doing Phone Sessions. I go outside occasionally to get food and to check My PO Box if someone notifies Me that something was mailed. Every evening at 7:00 p.m., I open My window and I "Clap Because We Care" (#ClapBecauseWeCare). Actually, I bang a pot with a wooden spoon and it is a highlight of the day. "Clap Because We Care" is New Yorkers giving a round of applause from their windows, balconies, and rooftops to healthcare workers. It is emotional and inspiring.

The need to wear face masks is a serious matter, but the look of Mine makes Me chuckle, so I posted a picture of Me in My bandanna face mask. It is the forth version of a face mask I have tried (the first two were medical styles). It is more difficult than you might realize to walk around at a brisk clip while wearing a face mask. Besides impeding proper breathing, a mask can constantly ride up into your eyes or slide down off your nose (I don't know how the joggers are making it work!). I also posted a new picture of Me holding a traditional British school cane (and wearing a fabulous new pair of leather gloves!). It was taken in late February right before we started hearing about the impending coronavirus outbreak. I look forward to the day when I will be in this position again with a living, breathing, human subject at My feet who has a nice round bottom, perfectly ripe for the sting of My cane.

VINTAGE PICTURES

One of My photographers is going through old files while stuck in his house during the coronavirus shutdown. He sent Me these two images from 1998 and 2000. They were shot using 35mm film. He has some time to scan photographs now. I hope he sends more. The picture with the candelabra was taken in My first dungeon, which I shared with Mistress Venus (after My very brief stint working at the NYC House of Domination Arena Blaze in 1995).

I am grateful for everyone who has checked on Me during the COVID-19 shutdown. It truly means the world to Me. Thankfully I am still doing well; however, the situation in New York City is dire, as it is in some other U.S. cities and towns. The coronavirus is rapidly spreading throughout our country. AFTERNOON TEA WITH BARONESS ESSEX

Baroness Essex was in New York City less than a month ago. Thankfully She made it home before NYC became the current epicenter for the COVID-19 pandemic here in the United States. She is now safe and sound at Her magnificent English residence. During Baroness Essex's stay in NYC, My slut-maid was allowed the rare opportunity to serve us afternoon tea together. It was a relaxed and lovely time. As the result of busy schedules all around, it was also a bit last-minute and therefore a proper Afternoon Tea menu could not be acquired. My slut-maid scurried around the New York Tri-State area that morning and did quite a decent job of procuring most of the items requested by Baroness Essex and Myself, including a bottle of Pol Roger Champagne. I had My slut-maid demonstrate the joys of My relatively new Portable Walnut Wood Kneeling Stand from Torrid Timber for Baroness Essex and She educated My slut-maid on the rules for a proper English tea service.

Even though My slut-maid accumulated a list of 14 infractions during our afternoon tea service, all in all it was a fantastic time! Baroness Essex and I happily spanked My slut-maid's bottom afterward as punishment and to help the lessons of the day set in. My slut-maid and I eagerly await Baroness Essex's return to New York City. In the meantime, the afternoon tea presentation will be fine-tuned and I will look for just the right 2- or 3-tiered cake stand.

On a somber note, New York City along with many other cities, states, and countries are on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully I am fine, but many people are not. I may write more about this in an upcoming update, but for now My heart and thoughts are with everyone as we get through this pandemic together. Please continue to be safe and stay healthy.

NEW YORK STATE ON "PAUSE"

Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in New York, Governor Cuomo announced the "New York State on PAUSE" executive order, click here for more information: The 10-point NYS on PAUSE plan

Point #1 being: Effective at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, all non-essential businesses statewide will be closed. So I (and hopefully all My fellow New Yorkers!) am preparing to do some serious hunkering down. Thank you to all the people who have sent e-mails checking on Me. I am good considering the circumstances and after I get settled in I will start replying to e-mails again.

I know someone who knows someone who died from COVID-19 a few days ago. This pandemic is a tragedy on so many levels and in so many ways. I truly hope people worldwide will use the time we have been given during this "lockdown" period to reflect on and consider the ways we act and treat other people, ourselves, animals, and our planet. I am actually looking forward to a "pause." It is the circumstances that are so devastating.

Stay safe and conscientious, and take good care of yourself and those around you.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

I am back in New York City and I am keeping a good distance from people to protect Myself and others from the coronavirus disease COVID-19. I have flown on airplanes multiple times during the past two weeks while adhering to all recommended precautions, and I am hoping I was not exposed to the virus. So far, I feel great physically and I have no symptoms. I debated whether to do in-person sessions during the current pandemic. As I read, hear, and learn more, I believe it is not worth the risk to Myself nor anyone else to have such close contact for at least two more weeks (possibly longer when all is said and done). I will be doing phone sessions as usual and you can find out how to book one here: PHONE SESSIONS

I will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation. The coming months will be very difficult for all of us, but we will get through it; ideally with kindness, thoughtfulness, and some much needed empathy. Speaking of which, the people on the streets of Manhattan have been really nice the past few days. While normally this might be perceived as suspicious behavior, it has been a pleasant experience and provides a genuine feeling of community and a sense that "we are all in this together."

On a lighter note:

• I should now be able to find some time for catching up on e-mail and other administrative work, adding to and tweaking My website, and finishing some dungeon improvement projects.
• I did a photo shoot recently and I will work on editing and posting those pictures over the coming days.
• During Baroness Essex's recent trip to New York City, She and I were served afternoon tea by My elegant slut maid. Pictures were taken and will be posted online soon.
• My trip to Villa Domme, Italy in June of this year has been moved to a castle in a different European country and the dates changed to late September/early October 2020.

Happy Halloween!

I received an unexpected treat on this windy and damp Halloween day in New York City. FALL 2019 & FEMDOM MANSON

As you can see on My Calendar page, My schedule is very full through the end of 2019. There are a few "white" dates (dates with availability for sessions) before January; however, it will be difficult for Me to book new in-person sessions before 2020. NEW TORRID TIMBER ITEMS

While I was at DomCon LA this past May, one of My treasured slaves purchased two beautiful items for Me that had to be made-to-order. Because of My full travel and session schedule during the months to follow, the Torrid Timber items were just recently shipped to Me and I cannot wait to start incorporating them into My scenes, sessions, and vassal training periods.

One of the items is the portable Kneeling Stand, which I ordered in walnut wood. It is a solid and practical apparatus and the walnut wood is striking in appearance. This Kneeling Stand provides a pleasing way for any submissive, servant, or slave to present themselves to Mistress. Also of importance to the compassionate Dominatrix, there is a slightly elevated cushion for delicate knees and ankles along with a sturdy frame and handles that can be used to assist subjects in returning to a standing position without having to flail and grope for nearby furniture and walls for support.

I have finally unpacked everything from My recent trip to DomCon LA and now I am busy preparing and packing for My trip to Villa Domme in Italy with Anne O Nomis this week. My time between these two trips has been spent mostly in sessions with wonderful submissives, masochists and/or subjects, some of who have served Me loyally for over twenty years, some I saw for their first or second sessions with Me, and with one I celebrated our 9th anniversary. Because of all the time I have been spending in sessions (and the related preparation and clean-up time), My inbox is filling at a pace I cannot keep up with (I explain how I respond to e-mails on My Important page in the "Time & Tribute Expectations" section). I believe I am current with immediate scheduling matters, but if I have missed something please send a polite reminder. Similar to the previous two DomCon's I attended in Los Angeles, this one was full of knowledgeable, supportive and fun women (and males)! Also similar was the whirlwind of non-stop activity throughout the event -- catching up with friends and colleagues, meeting new people, shopping and talking with vendors, big parties and small gatherings, parades, pageants and demonstrations and, for Me, many, many classes. I went to Florida for a session last week and it was a great time! I met up with My submissive of many, many years. I can never get enough of Varda's boots and I just received two new pairs (now I need a bigger apartment in Manhattan to store all My boots!). I enjoyed a few days of snow skiing during My recent travels and they were excellent! I was at Sun Peaks, a ski resort in the "middle of nowhere" in Canada. The conditions were superb (sun and fresh powder) and there were no crowds or lines; in fact, it often felt like there were no humans at all on the stunning slopes of this Canadian gem. The people were really nice and the food was surprisingly decent. If you are all about the skiing (as opposed to abundant nightlife and shopping) as I am, I highly recommend this resort. BUSY IN NYC & ATLANTA RECAP

I am in New York City catching up on e-mail and doing sessions. I have also been working on some website changes that should make it slightly easier to navigate My massive website, especially on devices with smaller screens. I have added a few new pictures to My "Photos" section too.

While I was in Atlanta in December, I spanked one of My favorite naughty boys; his bottom is shown above. I was surprised to see that barely a blush was visible after the walloping he received. BACK FROM LAS VEGAS

I have returned from Las Vegas and it was a fantastic trip. My submissive and I took full advantage of a luxurious hotel setting, where he displayed a deeper level of submission than I have ever witnessed in his 22 years of service to Me. While the main purpose of My trip was the session, it also included a day excursion to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, a truly magnificent sight and experience. BIRTHDAY THANKS

I have received many wonderful birthday wishes and gifts from special submissives, clients, and Dommes. I will respond to all messages and acknowledge all gifts as soon as I can, but please be patient as the celebratory events are not done yet!

Update regarding the problem with the delivery of My mail that I wrote about below in My October 6, 2018 "Update": Thankfully everything I was expecting arrived except for an article someone mailed. The sender was able to hand-deliver another copy of the article so all is good in the end. But, do not forget to inform Me when sending anything through the mail.

MAIL & MY BIRTHDAY

I have been receiving tributes and gifts through the mail since 1995 with only one incident of missing cash -- until this year. Around May 2018 two pieces of mail sent to Me containing cash did not arrive and one envelope I sent containing a money order was stolen. The money order was cashed. During a few conversations with My post office's employees I was told there is nothing they could do about the missing cash because there were no tracking numbers. Over the course of the summer a few submissives risked sending Me cash and it all arrived as expected. For the past week, however, I have received no mail and I am expecting three specific items, including cash. Hopefully the items will arrive soon, but I am now concerned that they too have gone missing.

This information is on My Gift List page, but I will repeat it here:

• ALWAYS notify Me when you send Me anything via postal mail and send a tracking number if applicable. If I am not expecting something I will not check the mail on a daily basis.
• I always acknowledge items I receive in the mail. If you did not notify Me as instructed that you sent Me something (or had a gift sent to Me) and you have not heard from Me for a week after you think it arrived, let Me know.

See My "Payment Options" page for alternatives to mailing cash to Me. Once I know the outcome of these currently missing pieces of mail, I will post an update (see October 11, 2018 "Update").

On a happier note, it is My birthday month and the celebrations are happening! I have received some wonderful gifts and others are on the way. I prefer and always privately thank thoughtful and generous gift givers; however, here is a short and heartfelt public "thank you" for all the gifts I have received!

Several well-meaning people have asked, "I know you have a gift Gift List, but what do you really want for your birthday?" I laugh and gently scold because if you take the time to read My Gift List you will find the answer. I spent a great deal of time creating My Gift List and I update it regularly. It is thorough. There are details, links, pictures, and items marked "high-priority." The item currently on the top of My list (with two red exclamation marks ! ! ) is a pair of brown leather chairs for My dungeon. A few submissives asked if they can get Me one just one of the chairs and, yes, that is acceptable and would make Me very happy, but no chairs have arrived. Perhaps they were lost in the mail.

As I wrote in My July 4, 2018 "update," Villa Domme in Tuscany with Anne O Nomis was an extraordinary experience for Me and I believe for all who attended. It was so special that Anne O Nomis has planned and announced Villa Domme 2019, and many spots have already been booked, including Mine.

Several people (Dommes and submissives) have asked Me about attending Villa Domme and a few submissives have expressed an interest in serving Me there. If you wish to discuss Villa Domme and the possibility of going in June 2019, I will happily answer your questions during a phone session, but you had best schedule your call soon as there may not be much time left before Villa Domme 2019 is fully booked.

A NEW TAWSE FOR ME

I am doubly ecstatic! The submissive I wrote about below in My September 7, 2018 "update" has surprised Me with a genuine Lochgelly 2-tail tawse from the early 1960's! He wisely took it upon himself to research online tawse auctions. Much to his surprise -- and to My delight and benefit -- he ended up winning an auctioned off tawse and he presented his highly coveted prize to Me. My new school tawse is tan leather, 21 inches long, stamped ”JOHN.J.DICK, MAKER, LOCHGELLY" with an "M" (medium weight), and it is in fine and quite usable condition. While the intended purpose of tawse and school straps is corporal punishment, I plan to use Mine as a reward for this special submissive (then, of course, in corporal punishment sessions). If all males were as thoughtful, capable, and useful as the one of which I now write, women worldwide would be substantially happier!

I am ecstatic! One of My favorite submissives surprised Me with a copy of the book/catalog "The Collector's Guide to the School Strap: Second Edition" by Harold A. Hoff. As I write on My Gift List page, it is risky to surprise Me with gifts not on My list; however, this particular submissive knows Me well and knew that I was in the market for an authentic tawse and other school straps. He presented this book to Me and I am very eager to peruse it and use it as I search for pieces to add to My collection.

IN NYC FOR A WHILE

As of this writing, My plans are to stay in New York City for the most part through the end of the year, although I will announce a trip to Atlanta in the coming weeks. Check My Atlanta Sessions page for updates and to book a session there.

My most recent travels included time in France with friends, family, and one of My well-organized submissive clients who was able to secure time with Me near the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Sancerre. As usual, I was the quintessential tourist as I donned sun protection gear (to cover My flawless porcelain white skin), grabbed My paper maps, and hit a few prime -- and packed -- touristy locations in France. A digressive thought: My paper maps often out perform nearby GPS's. I don't know why people have become so dependent on those little machines. Plus, My maps don't need constant charging.

Like the heatwave I left (and returned to) in New York City, most of Europe has been suffering with extreme heat this summer too -- and with fewer air-conditioning units. So I took to the Catacombs of Paris for some relief. Versailles was not as pleasant, but there was a nice breeze on the coasts of France and the evenings away from Paris were more comfortable. During My visit to the Musée Picasso Paris, I was happily surprised to see a randomly placed sketch of pony play!

As I settle back in New York City I am pleased that so many submissives and fetishists are booking phone sessions with Me. These calls are a wonderful way to maintain a connection when in-person sessions are not feasible and they are also a great way to stay in touch during hot summer temperatures that are not ideal for many BDSM scenes, wearing leather, or even taking the subway for that matter.

VILLA DOMME 2018

Villa Domme is still fresh in My thoughts even after two weeks back in New York City. Anne O Nomis is a brilliant and empathetic teacher. After reading her book, "The History & Arts of the Dominatrix," I was eager and fascinated to meet Anne O Nomis. I signed up for her Mysteries of Female Dominance Realm Arts™ course in Italy primarily for the academic teachings and the one-on-one conversations I might have with her in person, which alone turned out to be worth the journey overseas for Me. However, Villa Domme was so much more. It turned out to be a truly special and unique event.

My attending slave and I connected in Florence, Italy, where in due course we converged on a Florentine restaurant with Anne O Nomis and other Villa Domme participants from around the globe. Next it was off to the beautiful and slightly chilly mountains of Tuscany for a week of wonderment and celebration of Goddesses and female power. In My opinion, Anne O Nomis managed expectations well and for an inaugural venture -- especially BDSM related -- everything went swimmingly. This is not to say there were no issues with hot water or finding an open restaurant with enough seats during siesta hours, but certain situations are commonly expected in a remote Italian village. Fortunately Anne O Nomis' helper, dear tom, "an American-Italian and now Australian resident" who has extensive experience with "production logistics" was available to help with almost everything in and around the Villa.

The intimate group of fourteen attendees arrived at Villa Domme from around the world with wide-ranging and quite diverse levels of experience, education, background, and interests both within the realm of BDSM and in general. Anne O Nomis was well aware of the variance among course applicants as she prepared for her classes at Villa Domme and she did an exemplary job of ensuring everyone felt welcome and got what they wanted from the experience. Within the Villa, the assemblage consisted of dominant women and male subjects (submissives, slaves, servants, devotees, masochists, fetishists, et al.) who were all open, accepting (in several ways), intelligent, and curious. There was a splendid harmony at Villa Domme throughout the week, so much so that I believe a reunion for our group is being planned.

As I mentioned, My primary interest in the Mysteries of Female Dominance Realm Arts™ course was academic and I was not disappointed. Anne O Nomis is a wealth of information and she is more than happy to share her knowledge and research data with her students. I also learned a few new techniques in the "how to" classes. As imagined, Villa Domme was a delightful opportunity to "live the lifestyle" openly, among like-minded people, in the great and magnificent outdoors fulltime for just over a week. One of the most precious parts of the trip for Me (besides touring museums with a cool archaeologist who specializes in Dominatrixes!) was the relaxed, far-reaching, ongoing conversations I had with Anne O Nomis and everyone else at Villa Domme.

Other Villa Domme 2018 highlights for Me include visiting a suspension footbridge surrounded by scenic forest, being able to use My 6-foot bullwhip outside, the masquerade dinner, discussions of protocol with My slave and Anne O Nomis, and enjoying the thoughtful, practical, and high-quality gifts Anne O Nomis and dear tom presented to all the Ladies and males. Of course, spending time in Florence with My slave offered the ideal circumstances for Me to explain and share the joys of Italian leather shopping with him.

OFF TO VILLA DOMME, ITALY

In My January 22, 2014 "Update" titled COLD & BUSY I wrote: "...This...servant also gifted Me with a limited first edition copy of 'The History & Arts of the Dominatrix' by Anne O Nomis -- a book about which I have been quite curious." I read the tome soon thereafter and I was delighted to find it was unlike any other "Dominatrix" book I had come across. I have read many BDSM-related memoirs, fantasy novels, and "how to" books (mostly in paperback), but Anne O Nomis is an archaeologist and historian among other things and "The History & Arts of the Dominatrix" contains a rare or more accurately non-existent academic look at the history of the Dominatrix, plus some. I wanted more. When I learned several months back that Anne O Nomis was teaching her course called "Mysteries of Dominance - Realm Arts™" in Italy -- a more convenient location for Me to visit for a week than her home country of Australia -- My slave and I immediately signed up. The fact that the precise address in Italy is a Villa in Tuscany only added to the allure. And now the time has arrived. I depart for Villa Domme in Italy this week. Although we are trying to manage our expectations, My slave and I are bursting with excitement about our rapidly approaching adventure. I cannot wait to meet and learn from Anne O Nomis in person, while living in a private Tuscan Villa full of dominant women and submissive males.

As usual when I travel, I will not be checking e-mail often while I am away at Villa Domme. I will start replying to e-mail again after June 20, 2018, unless you send a proper request for a session in which case I will get back to you as soon as possible (but it could still take a few days).

DOMCON LA 2018 RECAP

As I have mentioned, I had an excellent time at DomCon LA this year. Writing up a full summary would take many hours and pages so following is a relatively brief recap.

My trusted slave and I arrived in Los Angeles for the five-day extravaganza with detailed schedule and a list of recommended restaurants (thanks to one of My LA based submissives) in hand. After a relaxing dinner in Beverly Hills on our first evening, I saw the light of day only a few times though My hotel window over the next five days (DomCon takes place in the basement of the hotel, where a dungeon belongs I suppose).

I attended approximately 22 classes and workshops that included presentations from attorneys and representatives of the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) focusing on SESTA/FOSTA legislation. Three of the most notable classes on My agenda based on a combination of exceptional presenter and material covered were Mistress Tissa's Security Considerations, Mistress Simone Justice's Verbal Skills, and Miss Grey's Classic Domestic Discipline.

One of the brightest highlights of DomCon LA is the Legends Panel produced by Mistress Tara Indiana. It is an hour-long panel discussion moderated by Tara Indiana -- herself a ProDomme legend -- featuring six Dominatrixces ranging in age 20's-70's. I think everyone agreed that the Legends panel discussion length should be increased to three hours or longer!

Because I enjoy the "continuing education" part of DomCon so much and ended up rotating between the four classrooms for days on end, I unfortunately missed many other significant events and performances. I did, however, partake in these social gatherings: The Opening Ceremony at Sanctuary Studios LAX, the Mistress Dinner, the Mistress Tea, a birthday party for Goddess Phoenix, The Whiplr Lounge hosted by filmmaker Max Candy, Goddess Cleo, Miss Penelope Dreadful and Lady Karma and, in a completely FemDom blissed-out condition that we did not want to dissipate, My slave and I found our way to the After Show Party on Sunday evening.

While I have not offered sessions during DomCon because there simply is not enough time, one deserving slave of Mine was granted an evening session for a single-tail whipping which, needless to say, was exquisitely delightful. The next day My slave met Me at the Vendor's Hall and gifted Me -- too late for our session sadly -- with a Roger Patterson black leather single-tail whip and, from Happy Tails Floggers and Whips, a "Hog Slapper" and a custom ordered pair of matching floggers.

And speaking of the Vendor's Hall, same as last year, I could not find enough time to visit all the booths. I really enjoy strolling through the aisles and chatting with the business owners and artisans, learning about their products and practices. However, with only a handful of 5-30 minute shopping breaks in My schedule during the three days that the vendor's hall was open, I could do little more than fly-by pronouncements of "I'll be back!" Amongst all the flurry, My DomCon attendant slave gifted Me with a second, magnificent, one-of-a-kind, Roger Patterson single-tail whip and a Rago girdle from GirdleBound (sans the stockings, which will be procured soon).

When I started offering professional BDSM sessions in 1995 there were two established and highly-regarded Dominatrixes who I admired and hoped to meet in person one day: Mistress Stephanie Locke and Mistress Porsche Lynn. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to finally meet both of these groundbreaking and legendary women in person; who both, incidentally, sat on the DomCon Legends Panel hosted by Mistress Tara Indiana.

The paddle I am holding in the picture above was handmade for Me by a talented submissive several years ago. It is made from beautiful Tiger Maple Wood and it is one of My favorite paddles. I have been in New York City this week after returning from a trip to San Francisco and the California wine country north of that city. I accomplished most of what I wanted; however, a return trip will be required and I hope to fit it in soon because San Francisco is one of My favorite cities to visit. It rained almost the entire time I was north of the city, but I managed to get in a few winery visits and the land was beautiful and lush. As usual, there is much more to write about, but I have several dungeon-improvement projects that need My attention along with some website tweaks and additions that need to be completed. Enjoy today's crumbs, then put away your computers and other little technological devices and go experience the great outdoors, a delicious dinner and/or time with another person or cute furry creature in the flesh!

CANCELLATIONS & BOOKING PROCEDURES

I have updated My "Cancellations" page and added a new "Booking Procedures" page (for returning clients) to My website. Be sure you understand and follow all the information and instructions given to ensure that I remain happy with you.

Much is written online in regard to clients disrespecting ProDommes' time, more specifically: last-minute cancellations, no-shows, wanting/expecting free session time, and generally poor booking habits. The analogies are abundant; for example: You do not call your attorney and expect an hour of his/her time for no charge; you do not book a one-hour massage and expect the massage therapist to throw in an extra hour for free; you would not go to a restaurant and expect a meal "on the house." A cancellation policy is standard for many professionals and businesses, including doctors and hotels. When it comes to sessions with professional Dominatrixes though, many clients feel entitled to last-minute cancellations and no-shows without penalty, free session time, discounted tributes, and/or "social" time without tribute. The reasons for this thoughtless behavior can be complex; however, that is a subject for a different conversation.

I do not write much about time-wasters and other types of nitwits I encounter because I believe "you either get it or you don't" when it comes to respecting people's time and efforts. One of the purposes of My initial screening process is to determine whether someone is going to waste My time or not and it works well for Me. The result is I have an amazing collection of clients and submissives. Unfortunately, though, even with all My rules and policies, I still have to spend too much time dealing with individuals who pull unacceptable stunts and, shockingly, I occasionally have to ask a person one or more times to submit tribute they owe Me. I have had only three official "no-shows" for sessions during the past 23 years, which is not a bad percentage. Last-minute cancellations, on the other hand, number in the hundreds and almost every time I sit down to work on e-mails I have to deal with some kind of asinine scheduling situation.

I am a reasonable and fair Dominatrix and I understand emergencies happen; however, I have never had to cancel a session with less than 24-hours notice. When something is important, you show up or at least you make every effort to inconvenience others as little as possible. A few clients and submissives have told Me over the years they did not think I would enforce My Cancellation Policies so they ignored them. To be clear, I do enforce My Cancellation Policies. There are many submissives, masochists, fetishists, clients -- people in general -- who are worthy of My time and attention. I prefer to spend My time engaging with them as opposed to using it to deal with thoughtless, disrespectful, and annoying people. To this end, I constantly tweak My website to make things clearer and easier for everyone!

AVALON STORY: My slave, Latigo, and I enjoyed our second trip to Residenz Avalon in Berlin last year, and ever since I have been positing on My website that a story will be published soon. Due to busy schedules, Slave Latigo has not submitted his text to Me -- for which he is now being publically prodded, and I have not finished adding the pictures to the webpage that will contain the recap of our time at Residenz Avalon. Progress is slow, but it is happening and I will announce the publication of the story as soon as it is complete. Until then, you may read about our first stay at Residenz Avalon here:

DOMINATRIX IRENE BOSS, THE COMPLEX

I mentioned last May that I got to visit with My friend Domina Irene Boss at DomCon 2017 in Los Angeles. However, I have not had time until now to share that Domina Irene Boss invited Me and My slave to her fabulous location in Orange County, California, The Complex. We meet Ms Boss at The Complex -- her west coast dungeon -- for a small gathering of Dommes and subs, and Ms Boss gave Me a private tour of her "other" dungeon and studio space. Just like The Compound, Irene Boss's world-renowned dungeon in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, The Complex in Orange County is fully equipped and contains some extraordinary, custom-made pieces of equipment. Big, exciting equipment! BDSM equipment that perfectly complements the skill, experience, and passion of its owner, Dominatrix Irene Boss.

The Complex in OC is a large open plan space of 4 rooms. Two are for hospitality and the playrooms are filled with custom gear specifically built for The Complex, mostly by DownTownWilly. There are also a few pieces of furniture from SteelToyMaker, MetalBound and Master Draevyn. Motorized furniture, a shockspot robot, spanking machine, and many benches, tables, bondage chairs, and horses are stationed inside. There is suspension in each unit, as well as a Tetruss. The garage doors make kidnapping scenes possible.

The Complex in Orange County, California is very different than The Compound in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania because it is in an industrial area and has a warehouse/art gallery feel and vibe. (The Pittsburgh Compound is an Edwardian mansion.) The plentiful parking makes it an ideal studio to rent for private BDSM functions where all persuasions are welcome, FemDom being just one. All scene orientations (besides FemDom) are welcome at The Complex, and it is possible to rent it for special occasions and professional sessions. Where the Pittsburgh Compound is FemDom and by invitation and application only, The Complex is available to all -- as long as the basic rules of no smoking or biohazerdous play are observed. A caretaker oversees operations at The Complex and Ms Irene Boss visits for a week or so every few months.

The Complex is now in its second year and is starting to take off as a formidable studio addition to the BDSM landscape of Southern California. There is truly nothing else like it in that area. Its addition has already influenced many other existing studios and Ms Irene Boss is honored by this. The Complex was created due to the enormous interest people had in the Pittsburgh Compound and the fact that Ms Irene Boss could not accommodate many suggested wishes at that location -- like studio rental and space for functions. Recently the Dragon’s Gate dungeon in Anaheim California closed, and many of the people associated with the groups who visited there are now making their way over to The Complex, also referred to as “The Orange Complex." Ms Irene Boss's DVD production business was moved from Pittsburgh to Orange County a few years ago (from The Compound to The Complex), and The Complex also houses a working photography studio which is also available to rent. The Complex is essentially a “business to business” endeavor.

LOSS

I found out this past weekend that one of My slaves/clients, "b," died unexpectedly several months ago and I am stunned, sad, and feeling a profound sense of loss. Slave b and I met in late 1995, soon after I started offering professional BDSM FemDom sessions. He was one of My first and longest-term clients. We enjoyed sessions primarily in My dungeon; however, we also went to OWK together in 2001 and made annual shopping trips to Boston for BDSM equipment and fetish clothing at the New England Leather Alliance (NELA) Fetish Fair Fleamarket (when it took place in Boston). Last July we discussed our plans over phone and e-mail for a trip to Avalon in Berlin and for commissioning our second Sardax portrait together, among other things. We both had a busy Fall season on the horizon so I was not too concerned when My birthday, then the holidays started to pass without communication. With the arrival of the New Year though, worry started creeping in and I sent an e-mail. I received no response. I knew something was amiss. He was a youthful and exuberant 64 years old and extremely active, but I had a feeling and I went directly to an obituary search online. I found his obituary and this is how I discovered he had died completely unexpectedly after an active day with friends . . . and just two days after our last e-mail correspondence. The cause of death was not disclosed. So now I wonder and mourn the loss without the option of connecting with others who knew and will miss this special person too.

This is one of the drawbacks of being a professional Dominatrix. I and many other Dominatrixes care, often deeply, about our submissives, clients, and scene partners (just as they care about us). In professional BDSM situations, real full names are rarely used. Even if they are, family and friends are usually not asked in advance to notify the deceased's Dominatrix in the event of his/her death (this did happen for Me once and the friend forgot to call for several weeks). In fact, family and friend's often have no knowledge of the dearly departed's proclivities, much less the existence of his/her Dominatrix, so Dominatrixes worldwide are left to wonder if a submissive's total absence is merely the result of "moving on" for any number of reasons or something more tragic and permanent. Fortunately, I knew My slave's/client's real name and other information that allowed Me to find out why he had disappeared from My life. I am offering no sage advice, words of wisdom, or even suggestions here, just some food for thought. Our BDSM relationships, while professional and/or limited in many aspects, are also intense, deep, complex, intimate, fulfilling, healing, and life-altering -- or perhaps just a fun refuge from the real world. It may be a good and/or appropriate thing to come up with a plan of notification in case your secret partner dies.

I am in New York City for a while and booking and conducting sessions. I am also catching up on e-mail and website "Updates," of which there are many. I think I am current on immediate scheduling matters; however, My inbox is still very full so if you have not heard back from Me about a time-sensitive matter, send a polite reminder. I will reply to all other legitimate and appropriate e-mails as I have time.

I enjoyed several deeply satisfying sessions over the holidays and posted a picture from one here. This image is of a submissive slut who returned to My feet -- and My hoist -- after an unacceptably long absence during which a chastity device would have been quite advantageous. I plan to put him to good use in 2018.
